Crispy Dehydrated Fried Onions
These crispy onions are the perfect savoury topping for fried rice, noodles, soups, eggs, salads, or grain bowls. They have all the crunchy flavour of traditional crispy shallots, without seed oils or additives.
Ingredients

4 large onions, thinly sliced

Generous drizzle of olive oil

Himalayan or natural salt, to taste
Method

Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.

Add the thinly sliced onions and cook slowly, stirring often, until soft, lightly golden, and caramelised. This usually takes around 20 minutes.

Season with Himalayan salt.

Spread the onions evenly onto dehydrator trays lined with solid dehydrator sheets.

Dehydrate at 55°C for 8–10 hours, or until completely dry and crispy.

Allow to cool fully before storing in an airtight container.
Storage
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
