Why the Ultra FD1000
Every feature is built around one goal: even drying, every tray, without babysitting the machine.
No tray rotation
Ezidri's heated airflow system pulls warm air evenly through every tray, from the first to the thirtieth. No swapping trays halfway through a batch.
1 to 48 hour timer
Soft-touch digital controls let you set the exact hours you need, from a quick herb dry to a long biltong cure.
30°C to 70°C control
Dial in the right temperature for the job, whether that is delicate herbs at 30 degrees or a fast fruit batch at 70.
Anti-rehydration function
When the timer ends, the FD1000 automatically drops to 30°C and keeps the fan turning, so your produce will not rehydrate if you are out for the day.
1000W, low running cost
The element only runs for part of each cycle, so a full 10-hour batch costs around $1.90 in power.
BPA-free and certified
Food-safe ABS plastic throughout, with element and motor thermal cutout safety features, tested to AS/NZS and EN standards.

IMPRESSED! So happy that I could use my 30+ year old Harvest Maid trays with the Ezidri (same improved dehydrator), after mine finally gave up. We're all set for another 30+ years of drying!
Early days with my new dehydrator and still working out what it can do
Early days with my new dehydrator and still working out what it can do. Has been great for the feijoa season with plenty dried and stored. Easy to use and great result so far.
Enjoying using it and its capacity
Enjoying using it and its capacity. Still learning about dehydrating times, but definitely helping with the glutton of fruit on our trees this year.
Excellent machine
Excellent machine. Easy to use. Well insulated, so more economical on power. Easy to clean. Quieter than some machines I've seen.
Common questions
FD1000 questions, answered
The FD1000 comes with 5 trays, and the maximum depends on what you are drying: up to 30 trays for light herbs and flowers, up to 24 for fruit, vegetables and beef jerky, and up to 15 for fruit roll-ups, meals or soups. Buy extra trays any time and stack them straight on top — there is no need to upgrade the base unit.
Yes. The current FD1000 model is compatible with trays and accessories from older Harvest Maid and Ezidri units, so 30 and 40-year owners can keep using what they already have.
The FD1000 solid sheet and mesh sheet are both 345mm in diameter, with a centre hole of around 55mm. Note this is larger than the FD500 sheets (315mm), so the two are not interchangeable.
Around 19 cents an hour in New Zealand, since the element only runs for part of each cycle. A typical 10-hour drying session costs about $1.90 in power.
No. The FD1000's heated airflow system dries every tray evenly from top to bottom, so there is no need to swap or rotate trays partway through a batch.
Yes. If your trays, mesh sheets and other accessories are still in good condition, we can supply a new FD1000 base on its own. Get in touch with our team and we will sort a quote including freight.
Customers describe it as quiet enough to run overnight in the kitchen. It is a fan-driven appliance, so there is some background hum, but it is not disruptive for most households.
