Savoury Activated Seed Salad Topper
Add extra crunch and flavour to any meal with this nutrient-rich seed mix. Soaked and gently dried in your Ezidri Dehydrator, these activated seeds are easier to digest while retaining all their natural goodness. Tossed with herbs and spices, they make the perfect topping for salads, soups, or grain bowls.
Ingredients
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β½ cup pumpkin seeds
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β½ cup sunflower seeds
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β½ cup sesame seeds
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β ΒΌ cup hemp seeds
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β ΒΌ cup chia seeds
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β½ tsp ground cumin
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β½ tsp smoked paprika
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β ΒΌ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a little heat)
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β½ tsp sea salt
Method
1.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Soak the seeds:
Combine pumpkin, sunflower, and sesame seeds in a bowl and cover with water. Soak for 4β6 hours (or overnight) to activate. Drain and rinse well.
(Hemp and chia seeds do not need soaking β add these later.)
2.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Season:
Drain and rinse the seeds. In a large bowl, toss the soaked seeds with cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and cayenne if using.
3.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Dehydrate:
Spread the mixture evenly on dehydrator trays lined with non-stick sheets.
Dry at 55Β°C for 8β10 hours, or until completely crisp and crunchy.
4.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Cool and store:
Add the hemp and chia seeds and transfer to an airtight jar. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 1 month.
To serve:
Sprinkle over salads, soups, roasted vegetables, or grain bowls for a delicious, nutritious crunch.
