Homemade BBQ Seasoning with Dehydrated Garlic, Onion & Herbs
Create your own bold and aromatic BBQ seasoning using your Ezidri Dehydrator. Dehydrating your own garlic, onion, and herbs gives this spice blend incredible depth and umami flavour. Perfect for adding smoky-sweet seasoning to meats, seafood, or roasted vegetables.
Ingredients
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 4β6 cloves garlic, dehydrated and ground
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 1 medium onion, dehydrated and ground
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 2 tsp dried oregano (or a small bunch fresh, dehydrated)
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 2 tsp dried rosemary (or a few fresh sprigs, dehydrated)
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 2 Tbsp paprika (smoked paprika for a deeper flavour)
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 2 Tbsp brown sugar
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 1 Tbsp salt
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
β’Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 1 tsp chili powder or cayenne (optional, for heat)

Method
1.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Prepare and dehydrate:

β¦Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Dry at 55β60Β°C until completely crisp (about 6β8 hours, depending on thickness and humidity).
2.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Grind:
Once cooled, grind the garlic and onion into a fine powder using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle. Lightly crush the dried herbs if desired.
3.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Mix:
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and stir until evenly blended. Adjust salt, sugar, or spice to taste.
